The Wilburys Never Traveled

In 1988 GEORGE HARRISON decided he'd like to put together a Super Group to showcase the great ROY ORBISON, so he called some friends: JEFF LYNNE, TOM PETTY and to the amazement of everyone BOB DYLAN, who said: "Sure." The first recording: HANDLE WITH CARE was done in Dylan's Studio in Malibu high above Pepperdine. Warner Brothers liked it so much they requested a full album, and so they recorded one over 10 days that contained songs written by the various members.

THE TRAVELING WILBURYS, VOL. 1, was met with great Public and Critical success, reaching Triple Platinum and winning a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Group in 1989. A second album was recorded, but Roy Orbison passed away and didn't participate. Because of the Stars involved the project was professionally filmed with George editing, it threw off some great videos, like this one: @therealdonrocks
