The Pointer Sisters set Bruce's song on fire

I've talked about Black Acts on early TV, two decades later that kind of music would be a staple of many shows like THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL. I was involved with a wonderful group of girls from San Francisco named THE POINTER SISTERS, and for a while they ruled the roost.

To be honest what I really remember is that they loved champagne and partying, but that's beside the point, they were great entertainers and had fun doing what they did. Here's a note that Scott sent with some inside info on the song itself: FIRE.

Scott tells us: "Bruce Springsteen wrote the song hoping Elvis would sing it, but the King died just before the demo arrived in Memphis. The Pointer Sisters wound up recording the song that topped out at #2 on the charts." @therealdonrocks
