The Allman Brothers Band hit the post

The Boys from Jacksonville: THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, enjoyed great success early in the 70's when their: "Live At the Fillmore East" album exploded. They were one of the great touring Rock Bands and their Concerts would Rock your socks off. As far as the drama and tragedy that they suffered over the years I'll only mention the Phenomenally Talented Guitar Playing Brother, DUANE's death, shortly after their hitting the big time...Motorcycle.

The original members were The Allman Brothers, Gregg and Duane, Butch Trucks, Dickey Betts, Jaimoe Johanson, and Berry Oakley; sometimes Bands would come together with just the Right Chemistry, and the Allman's were one of those.

This clip of WHIPPING POST, filmed at the Fillmore East in 1971, is one of the best clips I've seen that show what the experience was really like at the Height of Hippie. The packed, pot smoke-fogged auditorium with everyone kicking out the jams. If you were there you know. @therealdonrocks
