Life's Been Good For Joe Walsh

October 14, 2016

Often when I mention the name, JOE WALSH, folks will either smile or laugh; he is probably one of the most Talented and Funniest guys in Rock and Roll. After THE JAMES GANG, Joe went to Asylum Records as a Solo Artist. In 1978 he cut what would be his Biggest Hit as an individual artist, LIFE'S BEEN GOOD, as he joined the EAGLES.

The song was written for the Soundtrack of the movie, FM; then appeared on Joe's album, BUT SERIOUSLY FOLKS, in an 8 minute version, which eventually was cut down to a 4 and a Half minute Single that went to #12 on the Pop Chart. The best version was the long one in which he Sent Up a lot of people like Keith Moon who tore up Hotel Rooms, and Himself who had his License to Drive taken away.

Basically, "Life's Been Good," was a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Rock Star lifestyle, and a great record. Here is Joe doing it live on what appears to be a very early David Letterman show. Dig his Outfit and Hair. Great Picture and Sound.
