The biggest selling Hard Rock Band in the History of Rock, those Bad Boys From Boston, AEROSMITH, put the lie to the phrase, There are no second acts in America. With a lineup of, Steven Tyler, Tom Hamilton, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Joey Kramer, and Jimmy Crespo, their fame started when they broke big in 1975 with their album, TOYS IN THE ATTIC.
The group toured constantly when not recording through the late 70's, and at the same time charted a dozen Hit Singles and Albums that went gold and platinum. Then they had some drug problems that killed their momentum, and Perry and Whitford left to work on other projects. In 1984 they returned and signed a deal with Geffen Records, and started a comeback tour that got them back in the public eye. But it wasn't until the they did a collaborative album with the Rap Group Run DMC, with whom they did a cover of WALK THIS WAY, that Aerosmith reignited and soared into space. It is considered the biggest come-back in Rock History and made them a household name.
Selling over 150 Million Records world-wide, and 55 Gold or Platinum Albums with 21 Chart singles between 1973 and 2012. There is not enough room here to related all the awards and honors Aerosmith has received, but they got the Big Enchilada, entering the R&RHOF in the class of 2001.
Here they are on the Midnight Special doing their signature tune, "Dream On" Live, with great picture and sound. Rock On! @thereadonrocks
