Hitmakers Hall & Oates Knew a Rich Girl

DARYL HALL and JOHN OATS, are one of the best selling duos of all time. The boys from Philadelphia pioneered a kind of R&B with Rock and Roll, and came out with a winner. Daryl sings lead, plays Rhythm and Keyboards, and John plays Lead Guitar and sings backup; they both write songs, some corroborating together and others independently. Hall & Oats have had 6 #1 Records on the Hot 100, "Rich Girl", "Kiss on My List," "Private Eyes," "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)," "Maneater," and "Out of Touch," and I'm surprised that, SHE'S GONE, didn't go #1 also, it seemed to be everywhere at the time.

Add to those Hit Singles, 6 Gold Albums, and it becomes apparent why Billboard Magazine moved them to #1 Duo of all time pushing Phil and Don Everly out of that spot. They've been incredibly prolific and have a dedicated fan base that has supported them on tour since they first hit in the 70's, the last I heard they were still on the road. Scott happened to find a great Live performance video of Daryl and John doing, RICH GIRL, in 1977, with HQ sound and picture.
