It's been about a year and a half since David Bowie died from Liver Cancer at age 69, and in a strange way it seems either like yesterday or a long time ago...maybe because he was around for so long. I've written before about my crazy day with David on his first visit to the U.S., but his eccentricity and his ambisexual life-style were all part and parcel of his artistic genius...David made up his own rules.
Obviously that worked for him, David Bowie sold over 140 million albums making him one of the most successful of Rock Stars. At the beginning his chameleon-like changes of character seemed like a gimmick, but as time passed it appeared that he was just adopting different personas in the same way the rest of us change clothes.
We'll be visiting David again every once and a while at TDR remembering the highlights of his astronomical career, like this Clown singing ASHES TO ASHES from his 1980 album, "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps." We can't even guess at what must have been going on in his head. @therealdonrocks
