Hitmaker: Emmy Lou Harris

One of the great female recording artists of the Golden Era is EMMY LOU HARRIS. She made her bones with the late, legendary GRAM PARSONS, and has gone on to record with many of the biggest names in Rock and Country, from Bob Dylan to Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton, to Mark Knoplfer and Willie Nelson, among many others.

Whether she's singing back up or lead Emmy's distinctive voice adds class and quality to everything she does. Emmy Lou's list of Grammy Nominations and wins (13) could fill this page, and from Billboard's Century Award recipient, 1999, to Induction into The Country Music Hall of Fame she's been honored by all manner of musical styles, showing how her mixture of Folk, Rock and Country music defy description.

Warner Brothers told her they would record if she got a HOT BAND, and she returned with the best, including James Burton and Glen Hardin who also played with Elvis Presley. Scott selected this video of Emmy Lou Harris singing "C'est la Vie, You Never Can Tell" in her prime with beautiful picture and sound from The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977, with a Hot Band of: Albert Lee, Emory Gordy, John Ware, Glen D. Hardin, Rodney Crowell and Hank Devi. @therealdonrocks
